The Seascape-BWMSnow complies to the latest IMO BWMS code MEPC.300(72), which is the latestrevision of the original IMO G8 guideline for type approval process of BWMS andset to come into force on October 28, 2020. The IMO new G8 code is more in linewith the USCG’s BWMS requirement, making it more challenging compared to theprevious one. To obtaining the IMO new G8 approval, additional freshwater, brackish water, and marine water test cycles for Seascape-BWMS were conducted atDHI Denmark together with the tests for USCG type approval.

Seascape-BWMSutilizes a combination of filtration, Ultraviolet and Ultrasonic in order toeliminate invasive species from the water. By applying filtration followed byUV and US during ballasting and deballasting, the system effectively reducesthe number of viable organisms in the ballast water below the standard requiredby the BWM Convention and the USCG. Thanks to the patented two-stage auto-backflushing filtration technology and the UV & US synergism technology, theSeascape-BWMS is optimized to achieve the high efficiency, robustness, smallfootprint and easy maintenance. With the flexible combination of 5 different modelsof filters and EPTs (UV/US reactor), the approved Seascape-BWMS covers the flowsfrom 80-5000 m3/h with UV-transmittance as low as 50%, and without water type restriction.

Based on the DNVGL type approval, Elite Marine is ready to apply for other IACS Classes’ new G8 code type approvals in the coming weeks. Besides, the company is striving tosubmit the official application for USCG type approval at the soonest opportunity. This will fulfil our commitment to providing the client with aneven-wider range of compliance choices.

Endorsed by thelatest IMO BWMS code, the shipowners will now have more confidence in theirchoice of Seascape-BWMS, and Elite Marine is fully prepared for the upcoming BWMS retrofit peak in 2021-2022. We are looking forward to more collaboration with you in the future.
